If you saw my last manicure, you will remember that the glitter that I used was an integral part of the design. Today I’m going to do a review of it for you so you can really check it out!
This item came from Beauty Big Bang (see the details at the end of this post for links and a promo code) and is listed on the website as SKU: J2837-12A. The item page states that 3 mL of glitter is inside the container, so I guess the item is sold by volume rather than weight unless they meant to write grams rather than milliliters. It arrives in a small plastic container with a screw top, and the opening is sealed to prevent the contents from spilling out during the shipping process.
No color name is attached to this product, but the unofficial name for this glitter is the mermaid mix due to its oceanic shades. The pieces are basically transparent with an iridescent sheen that makes them appear anywhere on the color spectrum between magenta to seafoam green to heavenly blue to unicorn purple. This is truly unlike any glitter you have ever seen!
Also unique about this glitter is its round shape. This is definitely not the glitter you find at the craft store! To make it even better, multiple sizes are included in the same container. According to my measurements, the pieces come in 1, 2, 3, and 4 mm sizes, not the 2, 3, and 5 mm sizes stated on the website.
These little circles are easy to use. You can apply them over wet nail polish and set them in place with another layer or two of clear top coat. The larger glitters are a bit harder to use because they don’t bend to the curvature of your nails unless you glue them into place, but you can add more layers of clear top coat if you’re worried about the pieces sticking out. You can see that the piece on the right side of my middle finger in the picture below protrudes slightly from the finish of the top coat.
You can tell that the glitter is semi-transparent by the way you can see the glitter in the nail polish through the circles. I also have a small piece of glitter on top of the hand detail on my middle finger, but you can hardly tell because you can’t see it in the lighting for this picture.
Also notice how the color of the glitter shifts in the light in comparison to the previous photo of the same manicure. No matter which way you look at it, the colors are beautiful!
There is a generous amount of glitter in the container, and if you only use a few pieces as accents to enhance your nail art, you will find that you will have enough to last a lifetime!
This product is one of the simplest ways you can beautify your nails, and the price can’t be beat. It is definitely worth trying.
