Today’s review is going to cover a holographic nail polish from Beauty Big Bang. I hadn’t tried anything new from their website in awhile, so I was curious to see how their house brand nail lacquer would perform.
Shipping took a few weeks, but I feel like my package arrived a little faster compared to when I order from Born Pretty. Everything was well wrapped and in a box instead of a bubble mailer which was a nice change.
The polish comes inside its own elegant black and gold box that lists the company info, ingredients and warnings, the item’s identifying bar code and color, and its creation date along with its expiration date.
Taking the bottle out, you will instantly fall in love with this beautiful shade of indigo. The photo on the website looks more blue, but it definitely has more of a purple tint to it, especially in low light conditions. For a holographic polish, it is a very unique color, and it has that gorgeous rainbow effect on top of it!
8 mL of polish is inside, which is a little less than your standard bottle from the drugstore. It doesn’t have a mixing ball, but the formula is pretty smooth and easy to shake up even without it. The brush is a pretty standard size, but I feel like it might be a little stiff in comparison to other brands.
I was a little surprised at the coverage of the first coat of polish because it was pretty streaky. I’m used to having one coat being close to totally opaque when it comes to holographic lacquers, and it was disappointing to see that this one didn’t deliver. For that reason, I probably would not try to stamp with this polish, although part of me thinks that it is a problem with the brush rather than the formula.
Thankfully the second coat really delivered! The formula dried fairly quickly, and you can see how magical the holographic effect is.
This color inspired me to make some unicorn nail art on top of it because what else goes with holo better than a magical unicorn?
The wear time for this manicure is pretty standard for a nail polish, if not better than normal. After applying top coat, I had no chips and minimal wear across my tips across a few days. I’ve definitely experienced much worse results from other brands!
Overall, this polish is worth checking out if you love holos. It is reasonably priced, and you can’t go wrong with free shipping with no minimum purchase!
