Today’s review is of a beautiful yellow gold jelly glitter polish from Aimeili, color 093 called My Fantasy Gold. For some unknown reason, this polish photographed more orange than yellow. I assure you that the color is more like that of a yellow marigold flower rather than the brassy tone shown here.
Like all of Aimeili’s polishes, the outer packaging is pretty much identical across the brand. The company uses the same boxes and bottles for all their colors. What differentiates each one is that there is a sticker on the back of the carton with an item specific barcode, and the top of handle of this bottle has a sticker with the number 093 printed on a background that resembles gold glitter so you can identify the color. For this reason, I would store these polishes outside of the cartons in a container where you can see the tops of the bottles easily.
Aimeili includes an instruction and tips leaflet inside the box, which I have scanned here for your perusal. It contains super helpful information on making your manicure last and how to remove gel polish properly, so I suggest that you read it, especially if you are just starting to use gel polishes.
The opposite side of the leaflet displays common FAQ’s, safety information, and the ingredients list.
The formula is easy to paint and has tons of sparkly gold glitter suspended in a yellow gold jelly base to give you a lot of coverage per coat. I only needed to apply 2 coats for the swatch below.
Each coat of color cures in one minute in a UV/LED lamp. It may feel a little sticky afterward, but that is so the next layer has something to adhere to, which prevents shrinkage. A nice gel top coat applied over your final color coat will give you a smooth and glossy finish and eliminate any sticky feeling.
I chose to take advantage of the slightly sticky color coat by stamping some black swirls on top of it. I love the look of black and gold together!
This polish is really shiny even without any top coat applied, and the color lasts without chipping for practically as long as you have it on your nails, provided that the prep work of filing and cleaning your nails was done properly. I’ve easily made it to 14 days with other Aimeili colors, and this polish should be no different as the polish ingredients are basically the same.
As for removal, you can soak your nails in pure acetone for 10 minutes, then use a 180 grit nail file to lightly buff some of the polish off before scraping away the excess with a tool or your fingernail. Repeat the process if the polish does not come off right away. If this is done correctly, your nails will not be damaged.
The 10 mL size bottle will last you quite awhile, and the quality is really good considering the price point. I would definitely recommend it!
