Review of Born Pretty Stamping Nail Polish in BP-WN05 Dark Armor

Today we’re going to take a look at a stamping polish from Born Pretty in color BP-WN05 Dark Armor. This polish comes from the brand’s White Night series, although I’m wondering if they really meant “Knight” instead because of the name of the polish! In any case, this bright crimson red polish comes in a small but cute 6 mL size, which results in a bottle that is about half the size of normal polishes.

This polish comes in the standard gold and cream packaging design that Born Pretty launched in 2018.

The lacquer has a typical nail polish smell, but it’s nothing that is overbearing, and the formula is a perfect medium consistency for stamping.

Stamping polishes are known for their opacity and ability to dry quickly. I used it to stamp an image from the BP-50 plate from Born Pretty on top of black (What’s a Tire Jack? from Sephora by OPI), white (White Hot from Sephora by OPI), and red (Tip Your Hat from China Glaze) polishes so you can see its effectiveness. My pinky sports one coat of Dark Armor to testify its ability to be used for a one coat quick manicure.

You can see that the polish picks up all the details of the image but also appears the most vivid over the white polish. It does moderately well over darker colors where it still is visible but is not as bright.

I loved having it for my romantic manicure below because I have an attachment to red flowers. You can see that it looks perfect over the light pink polish.

Red may not be a color that you often choose for stamping designs, but you will be thankful that you have this polish if you do! I remember in my early days playing around with stamping, I tried using some of my other regular red polishes, and they all had formulas that were thin and did not show up well over darker shades. If you plan to stamp any sort of floral patterns, it’s a great idea to pick up a bottle of this polish!
