Easy Accent Nail Manicure

As previously mentioned, it’s hard to find time to do your nails when you’re taking care of squirrels! I decided to ditch my long nails so that I could work with my favorite rodents better, and I did a super quick and easy manicure to keep my nails from drying out from all the extra hand washing.

Everyone knows how hard it is to remove glitter polish, so I chose this gorgeous silver holographic flake polish as my base for some durability. The color is called Jubilee and comes from Cupcake Polish. 2 coats is all you need for a perfect manicure.

Magical Butterfly Manicure

There’s something so fun about neon colors! They’re just so bright and happy, so I made a summery take on a butterfly and flower design simply by making the background a bright neon pink.

I chose Aimeili’s 057 Neon Very Berry to be the base color. This gel is a little sheer, so 3 coats really makes the color pop. Each coat cured in 1 minute in a UV/LED lamp.

Quick Holographic Flower Nails

Things have been unexpectedly busy here, so in order to keep my nails done, I had to go for some easy stamping. Nothing is better than combining holographic polish with a full pattern design when you’re in a hurry to create something pretty, so that’s exactly what I did here.

I began by painting all my nails with 2 coats of Wake Me Up from Superchic Lacquer. This highly pigmented polish is a dark magenta holographic color and is almost fully opaque in just one coat.

Constellation Manicure

This month has been all about the stars, and I’m not talking about the Hollywood kind. It being the 50th anniversary of the landing on the moon, Mercury being in retrograde pretty much for the whole month, to the recent obsession with Area 51, it’s hard to not be thinking about outer space lately! Here’s an easy nail art design you can put together to join in the madness.

My first step was to paint my nails with this cool glittery black jelly polish from Julep called Celeste. I needed to apply 3 coats to get good coverage as jelly polishes can be pretty sheer. I love the iridescent glitter combination that they used because it sparkles and really looks like a built in galaxy.

Flowering Tree Nail Art

I know flowering trees are mostly a spring thing, but there was one that was in bloom in my neighborhood that left its remnants all over my parked car the other day! Here is some nail art featuring this allergy inducing arbor.

I wanted to have a sky blue background, so I chose a nice color from Wet n Wild that I thought would fit the bill. There was no identifying label for the shade on the bottle, but it came from a 10 piece set called Pretty & Posh that was purchased at Five Below. Wet n Wild is known for its affordable cosmetics, and while the polish is dirt cheap, it did take 3 coats to get it opaque. It does dry quickly, so that is a huge plus!

It’s not the most smooth finish, but it does the job! Top coat will help to even out the color.

Faces of a Relationship Manicure

Not every relationship is a good one, and there are two sides and more than meets the eye when it comes to each one. This manicure isn’t specifically based on anyone I know, but it’s just me expressing more of an artistic side.

I started by painting my nails a creamy off white color. This shade is B268 Coconut from the March Mani X Me Box from Maniology, and it’s opaque in 2 coats. Use code FINEPOLISH10 to save 10% off your order or $5 off a Mani X Me subscription!

Review of Born Pretty 3D Chameleon Magnetic Aurora Series

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, I’m sure you must have seen pictures of my swatches of Born Pretty’s collection of chameleon magnetic polishes. There are 6 colors in this “Magnetic Aurora” series that span the spectrum from magenta pink, coppery bronze, teal, to purple, and they’re all gorgeous!

Top row (L to R): BP-MA01 Astral Realm, BP-MA02 Lightning, BP-MA03 The Gravity (rebranded The Summit). Bottom row (L to R): BP-MA04 Greenland Night (rebranded Night Imply), BP-MA05 Fairbanks Arts (rebranded An Art), BP-MA06 Aurora Borealis.

Each of these elegant boxes is wrapped in plastic wrap, and a label on the side of the box shows the item number and the name of the color.

The reverse side lists the ingredients, although this part of the packaging remains the same across all Born Pretty polishes.

What these polishes are known for are their multi-toned chameleon effect in addition to their reactivity to strong magnets. When magnets are applied over the wet polish, stunning 3D color shifts can be achieved. Please note that regular refrigerator magnets are not meant to be used with this set and will not work with these polishes. There are plenty of nail art magnet styles out there that you can purchase that are compatible with these lacquers, so there are a lot of design possibilities.

Even in the bottle, you can see there are at least 2 tones to each polish depending on how the light hits the surface.
