Holographic Fireworks Manicure

Here is some easy nail art that I did to celebrate Mother’s Day this year (I know, I’m late with the blog posts).

I used Born Pretty Store’s Celebration BPX-L013 as my cheat inspiration for the week.

BPX-L013 plate from Born Pretty Store covers you for a few different occasions throughout the year.

Because I was going with a firework theme, I painted my nails black as an evening sky.

What’s A Tire Jack? from Sephora by OPI is my go to black polish right now.

Next, I picked a holographic polish to do the stamping. You can pick any color holo polish that you like because all the shades look more or less the same (all rainbows!) when the lines are as thin as they are in this design. I went with Heart of Gold from Born Pretty for this manicure.

I used the 3rd pattern from the left side, first row of rectangular images on the plate along with the gold holo polish and stamped the pattern onto my nails.

This design looks like a bunch of lasers. Pew pew!

The rainbows in the holographic polish really give the fireworks a multicolored effect

That’s all there is to this intricate looking manicure! Hope you guys liked it!

Happy polishing!

Easy Patriotic Nails

I’ve been lazy about wanting to change up my nails, so I took a super simple approach to create some nail art for July 4.  They didn’t come out exactly as I was planning to do, as you will see.

The following products were used:
Sephora by OPI- White Hot
Finger Paints- In the Monet
China Glaze- Ring In the Red
Bundle Monster star charms

I started out by painting White Hot on fingers 1-4 and In the Monet on my thumb.

Beautiful base colors.

Next, I glued a star charm onto my thumb with Kiss Nail Art Glue.  It was my first time using nail art glue, and I’m hoping that it removes as easily as it went on!

For the stripes portion of the mani, it was my intention to use Bundle Monster plate BM-205, shown below.

Stamping plate BM-205 by Bundle Monster.

The only issue was that I wanted the wavy pattern to be horizontal on my nails, and the image was smaller than the length of my nails.  I tried to fill in the empty space first with extra stamping and then by hand, but I was unsuccessful and unsatisfied with the results.  The polish used for the stamping was Curve-aceous by Sephora by OPI in this case.  Please excuse the messiness of the photo below.  I knew at this point that I was going to wipe the stripes out, so I didn’t bother cleaning anything up.

Not so pretty stamping. :/

It was a good concept though, and I have plans to attempt something else with this plate later.

After wiping nails 1-4 clean, I painted them with White Hot and decided to use Ring In the Red to paint simple block stripes on the middle of my nails, no special brush required.  That’s when I called it a day.

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!
