Today we’re going to look at the Chinese Style L005 stamping plate from Born Pretty. At first glance, you will think that this plate is only good for Chinese New Year, but it can be used for all sorts of manicures.
With the holidays comes a lot of celebrating, so I created this fun manicure to make your wine glass look more chic.
I started by painting my nails a mauve toned purple. Pretty much any dark color would be suitable though. This color is CL025 from Laguna Moon. 2 coats of the gel polish were used for the swatch, and each layer was cured at 30 seconds for this perfectly shiny (and dry!) finish.
Happy July 4! It’s America’s birthday, so my nails are painted with red, white, and blue colors to commemorate our nation’s flag.
The easiest way to do this manicure is to start with a white base. I chose Ya Qin An Stamping Nail Polish in White because it dries quickly and is completely opaque in 2 coats.
I used Bundle Monster’s BM-H25 plate to do the stamping. I featured the images on the top and right sides of the plate in this manicure.
The stamping technique that I used requires the application of two different polish colors to the same design and a single scraping away of the polish so that a gradient effect is not created. It easily becomes a complete mess of colors if you’re not careful with this!
With July 4 just around the corner, I thought this review would be well timed! Today’s item features the Celebration BPX-L013 stamping plate from Born Pretty Store.
As you can see, the images focus on some occasions worthy of celebration ranging from New Year’s to springtime to Christmas and then some in between! I mainly wanted this plate for the firework designs, but I love all the images on this plate. With so many different themes crammed into this rectangle, you will certainly have a lot of options for manicures throughout the year!
As with all of the Born Pretty plates, you will need to remove the protective blue film from the top of the plate before you can use it. This is easily done by picking at one of the corners with your finger and peeling back the layer, but you should definitely do this prior to painting your nails.
Other notable features of this item are its rounded corners and thick white plastic backing which prevent you from accidentally cutting yourself on the edges of the metal plate. The backing is sturdy enough where it also prevents the plate from getting bent during transit.
Additionally, the plate comes with a cardboard sleeve in which you can store the plate to prevent the surface from getting scratched. The backside displays instructions for how to use the plate as well as social media information for the company. The downside is that the pattern on the package, while pretty, does not match the plate inside, nor does it allow you to see the actual plate it contains. Also, I do find it strange that the plate does not come shipped inside the sleeve as it would further protect it, but my plates always arrive in excellent condition regardless of this.
As for the images themselves, they are all engraved deeply into the plate and transfer without a hitch. You shouldn’t have a problem fitting the rectangular images onto most nails as they measure 1.5 cm wide and 2 cm high. The big fireworks image in the top right corner of the plate should be able to cover extra long nails provided that your stamper is large enough, and the single images in the top row can be use to accent any nail you like.
I used gold holographic polish with this plate to stamp fireworks (1st row of rectangular images, 3rd image from the left) over a black base and loved the result. Note that the thin lines easily get picked up.
The images in the bottom row lend themselves well to the reverse stamping technique. I tried this with the gift boxes in the bottom row, 4th image from the left. You can see how consistently the image picks up across different stampers.
Applied to a mint green base, these presents look perfect for a birthday theme.
While you may purchase this plate to suit one particular holiday that you had in mind, you will find that it is versatile enough to keep you using it throughout the year. As with any stamping plate, the colors you choose can completely change how a design looks, so let your imagination run wild and see how many times you can create different manicures with this plate!

Here is some easy nail art that I did to celebrate Mother’s Day this year (I know, I’m late with the blog posts).
I used Born Pretty Store’s Celebration BPX-L013 as my
cheat inspiration for the week.
Because I was going with a firework theme, I painted my nails black as an evening sky.
Next, I picked a holographic polish to do the stamping. You can pick any color holo polish that you like because all the shades look more or less the same (all rainbows!) when the lines are as thin as they are in this design. I went with Heart of Gold from Born Pretty for this manicure.
I used the 3rd pattern from the left side, first row of rectangular images on the plate along with the gold holo polish and stamped the pattern onto my nails.
The rainbows in the holographic polish really give the fireworks a multicolored effect
That’s all there is to this intricate looking manicure! Hope you guys liked it!
